R-Drive Image is a rather controversial tool designed for backing up information. Many users praise R-Drive Image for its reliability and lack of glitches compared to Acronis. It is not surprising, because the developers are the authors of the popular R-Studio. You can flexibly configure the backup, including in automatic mode, restore partitions without rebooting (except for the system one), connect images as virtual disks. However, everything is not as good as it might seem at first glance: during the creation and testing of the assembly, I found significant disadvantages.
Firstly, you cannot restore the system partition in a couple of clicks: Needless to say that in Acronis or AOMEI, recovery is automatic? Secondly, if your system boots in UEFI mode, R-Drive Image will not even reboot you into recovery mode. That is, you must have a bootable image on a flash drive or other storage device ready in advance. Not very convenient, you must admit. To summarize: if your system disk has an MBR structure, or if you always have a USB resuscitator at hand, like the boot disk from Sergey Strelec, then you can use the program and make backups periodically. The same applies if you back up non-system partitions or data. For beginners, I still recommend the simpler Acronis True Image or AOMEI Backupper.
